Dear CORE Village,

These are unprecedented times, and they call for unprecedented leadership.  What we’ve learned through the initial stages of the COVID-19 is that we all must work together and do our part to move ahead in the coming months.  As CORE Founder, Doug Bushee, says “we go further together.”

In response to COVID-19, CORE Foundation has established new resources to offer support to our community.   We are pleased to be part of #StrongerTogether, a collaborative effort to create a web of partners and pool resources in the community together for the greater good.   This effort has included a series of drop off points for multiple charities throughout Reston and offers volunteer opportunities to residents.  While sheltering-in-place, families were able to volunteer as a unit to help their neighbor.  As we’ve moved into a new normal, volunteer opportunities continue to be created.

A task force of leaders has been formed to serve as a think tank leveraging contacts and matching resources with needs.  Pooling our resources and collectively taking action as a team provides our best chances for collective success.   By facilitating cooperation and collaboration between business, non-profits, government, school administrators, the health community and law enforcement we will go further together as one united leadership team to connect, inspire, unify and rebuild our community.  If you are a community leader and interested in being the change, please reach out.

If you can lend your time, talents, or treasury in any way to the good of this effort, please reach out to tkohler@corefoundation.org.  Let’s work together to put the UNITY back into our commUNITY.

My Best,

Taralyn
