Join us in igniting the New Year and the 15th anniversary of CORE Foundation with a virtual MASKerade experience combining art, inspiration, entertainment, and culinary delights as we honor the 2020 Community Hero Winners. The event will feature an entirely virtual experience with entertainment for the entire family and fun perks of attending an in-person gala. The evening will kick off with a DIY sip-and-paint experience created by Pinot’s Palette with sessions for adults plus a youth session led by our CORE Young Leaders (If you ordered your ticket prior to January 10th).
Throughout the evening, our dedicated leadership and community volunteers will inspire you with stories of heroism and herculean volunteerism. Witness the tremendous impact of innovative COVID-19 relief right here in our community. A virtual photo booth will capture your memories from the evening in your festive attire or COVID-19 couture. The evening will conclude with live entertainment hosted by ShowJoe leaving you feeling connected with your community and energized for the coming year.

The auction contains a wide range of COVID-19 friendly experiences, gift cards, 4-somes to 11 local golf courses, jewelry, and contributions from our CORE Causes which reflect their charitable project. You’ll also have access to bid on our jewelry pull and grand prize raffle tickets items.

How much are tickets and what does my ticket include?

Where do I pick up my awesome swag bag?
If your ticket included swag bag and Nordic Knot personal charcuterie, pick up will be at Pinot’s Palette on Saturday December 16th from 12 p.m. to 4 p.m. The store is conveniently located at 12976 Highland Crossing Drive, Suite D, Herndon, VA. You may have a friend pick up your bags for you! While you are there, you will want to shop till you drop and pick up some additional wines and goodies.
What are the catering options?
Your swag package includes a delicious personal charcuterie from Nordic Knot and bubbles from Pinot’s Palette. Consider potluck appetizers with your at-home viewing party crew (of under 10). Additional wine and art kits will be available for purchase when you pick up your swag bag at Pinot’s Palette.
What are the perks of attending this event?
While we are heartbroken to not celebrate with you in person, there are many perks to a virtual event. This may just be the most “memorable” gala that you ever attend. The CORE MASKerade will be a fun-filled evening of art, inspiration and live music with a community feel.
You’ll have access to our jewelry and grand prize trip raffle along with our silent auction filled with COVID-19 safe experiences.

We’ve engaged our CORE Young Leader team to provide some extra special youth-only experiences for the under 21 crowd making this a night to remember for your entire family. What should I wear?
Why not take this opportunity to pull out your festive attire and enjoy a date night, a girl’s night, a family photo night, or just a night for you? We will only see the top part of you so festive tops and PJ bottoms are perfectly acceptable. Prizes will be awarded for the best dressed and for COVID-couture submitted through our photo booth.
What technology do we need to attend?
We will provide the instructions and login credentials the week prior to the event. You may consider using your television as a monitor for an enhanced experience.
What are the event sponsorship opportunities?
Event partnership gives you the opportunity to help the community while giving your business visibility. We are seeking:

How do the Silent Auction work?
The Silent Auction is open NOW for bidding! We’ve provided a BUY IT NOW option for most items for your holiday shopping convenience. If you choose the BUY IT NOW option, we will work with you to receive your item for holiday giving. Most auction items can be mailed to your home or we will coordinate pick-up or drop-off of your winnings.
How does the Raffle work?
Raffle tickets are available for our post COVID-19 dream vacation to Club Barbados Resort and Spa or “Glam it Up” package. Single tickets are $30 or 4 for $100.
The “Glam it Up” package includes a Modern Elegance Jewelry along with a Swarovski crystal clutch inspired by Lady D. Exceptional quality and European design. Necklace is adjustable height to wear low or as a choker. Valued at $1000. Drawing will take place during the live broadcast and will be mailed to the lucky winner.
The lucky winner of the MASKerade vacation raffle will win a post-COVID-19 once-in-a-life-time adults only getaway! The grand prize is a trip to the award-winning, five-star Club Barbados Resort & Spa in Barbados – a $2,400 value! Perfectly located on the oceanfront of Barbados’ West Coast, The Club offers terrific Rooms and Suites, including Garden and Ocean View, a luxurious Spa & Salon, and 3 freshwater swimming pools. What is a Jewelry Pull?
You’ve probably heard of a wine pull at a live gala event, and a jewelry pull works the same way with a twist. Instead of a blind draw, you will select the jewelry item of your choice. All of the beautiful items are $75. These are available for holiday purchases using the BUY IT NOW feature. They offer a fantastic choice for everyday wear, gifting or to jazz up your COVID-19 wardrobe! Jewelry will be mailed to your home.
What will the program look like?
The Silent Auction is open NOW for bidding and BUY IT NOW options. Keep checking back as we will continue to add items.
12:00 – 4:00 p.m. Pick up your swag bag and purchase last minute wine at Pinot’s Palette.
5:30 p.m. – Youth hot chocolate-and-paint led by our CORE Young Leaders! This call is designed especially for our youth led by our youth.
6:00 p.m. – The party kicks off with your DIY sip-and-paint! Pop a cork and create your canvas using the DIY instructions. You’ll leave this experience with a wonderful favor to capture the spirit of the evening! No special skills required. Need additional art kits? No problem! You can purchase additional kits when you pick up your swag bags.
6:30 p.m. – Join at 6:30 if you did not purchase a Sip-and-Paint ticket. Enjoy photo booth fun and pre-game entertainment.
7:00 pm – The heart of the program begins. Hear from CORE Foundation leadership and other special guests. You’ll be moved by hearing stories from our heroes and learning about the good work by members in our community who are making a difference. Raffles will be drawn. Prizes will be awarded for best dressed and best COVID couture!
8:00 p.m. – Reception with the CORE Community Heroes and entertainment
9:30 p.m. – Silent Auction ends

The purpose of the CORE Community Heroes Award program is to recognize the good work of those in our community who are making a difference in our community with an entrepreneurial spirit. We have so many examples of those in our community who have stepped forward during 2020 and helped their neighbor. Nominations are being accepted for:
- a CORE Cause group,
- an individual participating in one of our programs, or
- a CORE community partner
- an individual in the community who has gone above and beyond to help others and be the change
