Please join us on November 13th at Reston Community Center from 7:00 p.m. – 11:00 p.m. as we celebrate the 15th anniversary of CORE Foundation with an evening of inspiration and culinary delights while honoring the 2021 Community Hero Award recipients.   We can’t wait to bring the CORE community together for this wonderful evening!  Tickets are available for $125 before October 17 and $150 thereafter.

If you can not attend, we invite you to make a one-time or annual donation to help us continue to grow and drive our mission.  You may also contribute by joining the Founder’s Circle  to commemorate our 15th anniversary by pledging to make a monthly donation.   Founder’s Circle members will receive a special invitation to the V.I.P Heroes Reception from 6-7 p.m. on the evening of the gala.

The CORE Foundation Giving Gala was established in 2018 as a primary fundraiser for the CORE Foundation.   In 2019, the Community Heroes Program was added to further recognize individuals and groups in the community that mirror CORE Foundation’s values of being the change and who go above and beyond to make our community a better place.   Also new in 2021,  guests will enjoy a variety of libations from local breweries, wine, and small plates from local restaurants in our own “Tastes and Sips” culinary experience.    Attire is black tie optional.

If you’ve been to our galas in the past, the “Tastes and Sips” concept has evolved organically with restaurants generously donating food items.   Our area is rich in diversity, and we look forward to creating an exclusive dining opportunity that showcases the uniqueness of our community.   Guests will enjoy signature cuisine items and libations including small plates and apps from:  Nordic Knot100 Bowls of SoupKalypso’s Sports TavernGregorio’s Trattoria, Makers Union, and more!  Libations will include wine from  Lake Anne Coffee House & Wine Bar, and a juice bar sponsored by Roots to Rise.  An extensive beer selection will be provided by our philanthropic local brewing community: Bike Lane BreweryBeltway Brewing CompanyCrooked Run,  Lake Anne Brew HouseLost Rhino Brewery Company, Mustang Sally Brewing Company, Ocelet Brewing Company, Ono Brewing Company, Ornery Beer Company, Rocket Frog Brewing Company, and Settle Down Easy Brewing Company.

2021 Gala Sponsor Package

The mission of CORE Foundation is to ignite and support charitable projects which address societal needs, build community, and enable positive change. For 15 years, CORE has nurtured innovative charitable ideas turning them into executable projects which improve the lives of others, filling gaps and seeding unmet needs in the community. Serving as an incubator, our CORE Cause projects have ranged from supporting cancer patients and research to championing veterans’ issues to battling homelessness and food insecurity to making youth sport experiences available to needy kids. For each Cause project, we provide nonprofit infrastructure, administrative backbone, resources, tools, and strategic mentoring to ignite their project for social good. As a result, our CORE Causes and the Foundation have received local and national media coverage including Lester Holt, Good Morning America, People, and the Ellen DeGeneres Show. Join us in making a difference and invest in your community!

The CORE Community Heroes Award program recognizes the good work of those in our community who are making a difference in our community with an entrepreneurial spirit.  We have so many examples of those in our community who have stepped forward during 2020 and helped their neighbor.   Nominations are OPEN for:

  • a CORE Cause group,
  • an individual participating in one of our programs, or
  • a CORE community partner
  • an individual in the community who has gone above and beyond to help others and be the change
