The CORE Foundation celebrated five years of supporting the Amy’s Amigos Youth Triathlon.

The CORE Foundation selected the Radford University Sig Ep Brothers by the Wayside’s application to help them raise money for fraternity brothers in need. They host a golf tournament and raise over $10,000 annually.
Doug met with the leaders of Amy’s Amigos to discuss the possibility of a youth triathlon in Reston. The CORE Foundation selected Amy’s Amigos Youth Triathlon’s application to help them raise money for the Childhood Brain Tumor Foundation in memory of Amy Boyle.
The CORE Foundation and the Reston Smallmouth Bass Fishing Club hosted wounded soldiers for twice-annual fishing days on Lake Anne in Reston.
The CORE Foundation was officially incorporated in the Commonwealth of Virginia on March 1, 2007. The first Reston Sprint Triathlon race was held on Sunday, May 20th. 231 athletes raced and $8500 was raised for Reston Interfaith.
The CORE Foundation was granted 501(c)(3) status by the IRS.
Doug approached BJ Silvey about the possibility of doing a sprint triathlon in the spring. The CORE Foundation was registered with the IRS.
