💚 Mission
Herralink bridges the gap between generations, connecting high school students with residents in retirement homes.Â
Our goal is to revive the vitality of human connection to those who matter most: our seniors. By uniting the eagerness of youth with the wisdom of age, we hope to create genuine, mutually beneficial connections.
Herralink is fiscally sponsored by the CORE Foundation, a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization, EIN 20-5997764. Donations are tax deductible to the furthest extent of the law.
💚 Join
Join us in creating a world where everyone feels seen, heard, and valued. We are rooted in the belief that everyone benefits from friendship and engaging interactions.
As a HerraHelper, students have the unique opportunity to
- enrich the lives of seniors
- gain insight and wisdom beyond their years
- earn service hours
- build authentic relationships
Events
Our events create a fun and relaxing environment where the residents and HerraHelpers can get to know each other. These events serve as icebreakers. They allow students to gauge whether or not our program is a good fit for them and rake in the service hours!
One-on-One
Our curated personality quiz, with input from retirement home nurses and staff, matches students with their perfect residents. Students can then adopt a resident and visit, one-on-one, at a time that works for them.
💚 Origin
Herra has Nordic roots meaning elder or senior. Link is the connection between seniors and future generations that grows to feel like family. Together, we become SeniorConnection or Herralink.
Our HerraHelpers are known as SeniorHelpers!
