This past year has been an amazing start for the Radford Rugby Alumni Association. In less than a year the Radford Rugby Alumni Association has:
Sponsored the very first hole of the NOVA/D.C. Golf Tournament. Hosted by Radford’s Office of Alumni Relations the event raised $5,000 that will go towards enhancing the education of a Radford University Student
Purchased brand new jerseys, pads, and a banner for the team
Aligned the strategic level goals of Radford Rugby with the goals of Radford University’s new President, Dr. Brian O. Hemphill as well has had Rugby Alumni meet with him at every location across the state as part of his Alumni Tour
Sponsored the team for multiple tournaments including the historical Cherry Blossom Tournament, the James River’s Christmas 7’s, and the Roanoke 7’s. This was the first time the team has ever played in a 7’s tournament
Partnered with Radford University and consolidated all Rugby Alumni accounts into one endowment account with over $20,000 which will be used for future rugby scholarships
Due to the unyielding and steadfast support of the club’s faculty advisor, Drew Dodson, the club has secured Radford University’s Selu Conservancy as their official community service location. Located on 380 acres along the Little River, Selu is an “extended classroom” that hosts an impressive retreat/meeting center and classroom facility
